Dr. Tigchelaar: “My work about climate change with the Blue Food Assessment came out of the recognition that often times when we talk about food systems or food security, there’s this whole diversity of species and production methods that are really often left out of the analysis and discussion and policy on food systems. We want to first of all change that, but also to be able to create the knowledge base that can help inform decision-making in that space.
What came out of that work was this recognition that the full diversity of blue foods isn’t well-represented in thinking about sustainable, healthy and just food systems for the future.”
