Blue Food Futures at the Xiamen Symposium

Session 61 – Advancing Blue Food Futures Towards Ocean Conservation and Global Resilience

Under the UN-endorsed “Sustainable Blue Food Futures for People and Planet” program, this session will explore the integration of blue/aquatic foods into sustainable and resilient food systems. By leveraging collective expertise, the session aims to address global food security, climate resilience, and biodiversity conservation through innovative policies, partnerships, and practices. Bringing together scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders, the session will foster multidisciplinary dialogue to co-develop actionable blue food solutions and frameworks for national and global policy integration. Key focus areas include innovative governance, successful partnerships, sustainable production practices, climate adaptation strategies, biodiversity conservation efforts, and community engagement. By the end of the session, participants will gain science-based evidence, practical knowledge, and collaborative strategies to advance blue food solutions, ensuring a future where blue foods contribute significantly to sustainable food systems and global resilience.
